Jamir L. Crosby, infant, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Greater Love Temple with Bishop J. Riles, pastor, and Minister Chris Bowser officiating and Elder Gary Thomas as eulogist. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St.

Baby Jamir J. Crosby was born July 27, 2015, to Tyrail Crosby and Moneeka Carter.

Survivors include his parents; Tyrail Crosby and Moneeka Carter of Amarillo; a brother; Jaiveon Crosby of Amarillo; his grandparents, Michael and Sherry Carter and Patricia Crosby, all of Amarillo; his great-grandparents, Mack and Peggy Smith of Clarendon; special grandparents, Superintendent John T. and Minnie Bowser; five aunts; five uncles; and a host of cousins.

Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today at funeral home.

Terry Lynn Poindexter, 58, of Amarillo died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, in Clarendon.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church with Bishop James M. Mims, pastor, officiating and the Rev. Vernon Conner as eulogist. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St.

Terry Lynn Poindexter was born March 19, 1957, in Hope, Ark., to John Lee Sampson and Flossie Poindexter. He attended area elementary and junior high schools and graduated from Palo Duro High School, where he participated in basketball and track. He married Debra Kay Nelson on Dec. 14, 1978, in Amarillo. Terry retired after working 30 years for AmeriPride. He enjoyed sports, riding horses and fishing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Debra Poindexter; two sons, Terrill Poindexter and wife Toya and Tyron Poindexter of Amarillo; four brothers, Charles Poindexter and wife Tina, Jimmy James and wife Krystal of Amarillo, Edwin Phillips and wife Sheila of Hurst and Michael Terry and wife Misty of Dumas; two sisters, Linda Dunlap of Amarillo and Melissa Maxwell and husband Terrance of Keller; three grandchildren, Queshawn, Quiana and Quiara, all of Amarillo; his stepfather, Jimmie James of Amarillo; and a multitude of relatives, nieces, nephew and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mattie H. Birdine Hughes, 64, of Amarillo died Friday, Aug. 28, 2015.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church with Bishop James M. Mims, pastor, officiating and the Rev. Billy Hughes of Childress eulogist. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St.

Mattie Helen Birdine Hughes was born July 10, 1951, in Winters. She attended Carver High School and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1969. She was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in 1958, where she proudly served on the Junior Usher Board for 10 years and sang in the Youth Choir.

She married Billy Hughes in 1970.

Survivors include her biological mother, Annette Haynes; three daughters, Daneka “Nicki,” Dominique and Deidre Hughes, all of Amarillo; two sons, Darrin Keith Hughes and wife Dana of Amarillo and Devon Caleb Hughes of Lubbock; five sisters, Doris Smith and husband Paul, Shirley Gaines and Perita Jo Haynes, all of Amarillo and Ventress Smith and husband Edward and Dennetta Peters, and husband Jimmy, both of Seattle; two brothers, Kenneth Townsend and Gary Brown, both of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins; her sister-cousin, Marva Matthews; her best friend, Wesley Overstreet of San Antonio; and her special friend, Wilma Grays Black of Amarillo.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 6 p.m. today at Golden Gate Mortuary Chapel of Angel.
