Henry Thompson Jr., 77, died Monday, Oct. 26, 2015.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church with Bishop James M. Mims, pastor, as eulogist. Arrangements are by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St.

Mr. Henry Thompson Jr. was born Aug. 13, 1938, in Jacksonville. He was born the union of Henry Thompson Sr. and Ruby M. Lucy Thompson. Henry grew up in Fort Worth and Odessa. Henry joined the Army, and later moved to Los Angeles, where he met and married Hati Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hati Thompson; his parents; and a sister, Erma Penny.

Survivors include a son, Henry Thompson III; his brothers, John H. Thompson and LC Thompson of Fort Worth; two sisters, Ruby Price and Gerline Gupton of Fort Worth; and a host of niece and nephew.

Don L. Ellis, 77, was born December 17, 1938, in Talco, TX, was called to glory October 2, 2015.

Survived by: Children; Linda Ellis-Richardson, Don Ellis, Dawayne Ellis, and Donald Ellis; 3 sisters; His twin sister Dimple Haley and husband Van, Ft. Worth, Lola Hines, Ft. Worth, Genetta Brown and husband Morris, Amarillo; Nieces; Brenda Roberts and husband Rev. B.F. Roberts, Joyce Mims and husband Bishop James Mims, both of Amarillo, Rosemary Bowser and husband Minister Mark Bowser, Euless, Sandra Gardner and husband Rev. David Gardner, Plainview, Sharon Miller, Evon Hines, and Katrina Haley, all of Ft. Worth, Diane Eddington and husband Rev. Fredrick Eddington, Dallas, Vanessa Everhart and husband Alonzo Everhart, Amarillo, Nephew: Van Haley III and wife Leslie, Amarillo.

William Ross Freeman Jr., 50, died Monday, Sept. 21, 2015.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church with Bishop James Mims, pastor, as eulogist. Arrangements are by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St.

William Ross Freeman Jr., was ushered into the world on May 18, 1965. His birth was a celebration because he was the first born male of his parents, William Ross Freeman Sr. and the late Andrea C. Freeman, as well as namesake to his father.

As he got older, he discovered his talent as an exceptional basketball player and trickster, winning awards for basketball in high school and the collegiate level. His basketball skills at Palo Duro High School took him to California, where he played for Taft College.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Andrea C. Freeman.

Survivors include his father, William Ross Freeman Sr. of Forney; his children, Justin Ross Patterson of Amarillo, Julius Crosslin of Oklahoma, Stephanie Hernandez of Dallas, Jordan Hernandez, Bahrain Tanisha Bailey and Anthony Bailey, all Amarillo, Adrienne Freeman of New York and Ashley Freeman of Arlington; his siblings, Felecia and husband CM Pier of Fate, Stephanie and husband Chet Winters of Sacramento, Calif., Theola Woods of Forney and Myron Freeman of Amarillo; his former wife, Caroline Bailey of Amarillo; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Brenda Chacon.
