Annie R. Asberry, 79, died Monday, Dec. 21, 2015.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Shiloh Cathedral of Praise Church with the Rev. James Tudman Jr., pastor, officiating and the Rev. B.F. Roberts Jr., pastor of New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Plainview, as eulogist. Arrangements are by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St.
Annie Ruth was born Jan. 14, 1936, in Memphis to Jimmy and Arether Graves. She lived in Memphis until 1963, later relocating to Amarillo.
She worked for Admiral Linen Supply for more than 20 years. She later retired and began housekeeping for several Amarillo’s most prominent families.
Annie Ruth surrendered her life to the Lord in 1982, when she joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She loved playing cards, dominoes and bingo. She loved spending family time with her family. She loved the Dallas Cowboys.
Survivors include three sons, Bobby Asberry of Inglewood, Calif., Carl Asberry and wife Mary and Rodney “Spudy” Asberry, all of Amarillo; two daughters, Jeanetta Asberry Johnson and Renay Asberry, both of Amarillo; a sister, Alice Fisher and husband Sherman of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Viewing will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
