ATLANTA β€” Michael Martin, 62, of Atlanta, formerly of Amarillo, Texas, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral in Austell, GA. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens in Douglasville GA. Arrangements are by Willie Watkins Funeral Home, Douglasville Georgia.

Local arrangements are by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St., in Amarillo, Texas.

Michael W. Martin, formerly of Amarillo, was a longtime resident of Atlanta, GA. He was a 1972 graduate of Palo Duro High School. The Lord called him home on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017.

Survivors include his loving wife, Doritha Catrina Martin; his devoted son and namesake, Michael Cameron Martin and wife Jessica; his beloved grandson, Cameron Jahvon Martin; two brothers, Kenneth Martin and Reginald Martin and wife Angela; a sister, Rochelle Martin; an aunt, Alma Harris; his brother-in-law, Dwayne Johnson; a sister-in-law, Dinah Moore; three nieces, Kennedi Martin, Erika Harding and husband Eric, and Erin Moore; and a host of other relatives, cousins and extended family.

Alphonzo β€œAl” S. Cross, 63, of Amarillo died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Cofer as eulogist. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St.

Alphonzo was born May 10, 1953, in Bell City, Mo. He grew up in Niles, Mich.

He thoroughly enjoyed music and loved to sing β€” old school gospel being one of his favorites.

Survivors include his wife, Anita Pettis; four daughters, Tiffeny Forrest-Senkyire, Serenity Cross, Asia Cross and VaRohanda McDonald; eight grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters; and many more family and friends.

Al was preceded in death by his mother, Jessie Bellard; and his father, Henry Gross Sr.

Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lewis D. Byers, 55, of Amarillo died Monday, Jan. 30, 2017.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ with Superintendent Elijah B. Demerson, pastor, as eulogist. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St.

Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
