Dempsey Lee Davis, 74, of Amarillo died Monday, April 10, 2017.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church with Bishop Mims, pastor, and co-Pastor Joyce Mims as eulogist. Arrangements are by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St.
Dempsey Lee Davis, the youngest son born to Dempsey and Lillie Mae Davis, was born in Clarksville. He attended school in Wichita Falls and finished in Amarillo.
He worked for Captain Wire and Cable in Plano until his retirement.
He married Gladys Steward on Nov. 27, 1974. They were married for 40 years until her death in 2015.
He occasionally attended New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church with his wife, Gladys, who was a faithful member for years.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and two sisters, Hyabon and Helen.
Survivors include a daughter, Sheree and husband William Foster; a son, Eric Davis, all of Amarillo; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
