Anna or “Mrs. Mary” as most referred to her, was born on June 29, 1936 to Maurice and Beatrice Williams in Carthage, TX. She attended public schools in Carthage and would later move to Amarillo in her late teens. Shortly after moving to Amarillo, Anna met Joe Wilson who she would later marry and have one child. Anna and Joe shared their lives together for fifty plus years. Anna made a living working at the Silver Grill Café in her earlier years and as a house keeper in private homes for over 30 years. She loved sewing and preparing meals for her family from scratch, but she also had an extensive collection of cookbooks and recipes in which she loved to share with others. Anna gave her life to Christ at an early age and she was a faithful member of Victory Church for many years until she became ill earlier this year.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Beatrice Williams; one brother, Maurice Williams, Jr.; and a sister, Billie Ruth Williams-Adams.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Wilson of the home; one daughter, Jo Ann Wilson, of Amarillo; two sisters, Dorothy Jean Williams and Helen Louise Sample of Carthage, TX; a special niece, Debra Marie Adams of Homer, La; and Cynthia Williams, of Carthage, TX; and a nephew, Larry Williams of Carthage, TX; as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
