Shirley Smith

Shirley Mae Smith was born February 22, 1961, in Amarillo, Texas to Dock and Flossie Smith.

Services will be held Friday, December 15, 2017 at New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church, 3100 Angelus Dr, Amarillo Texas at 11 am, Burial will be at  Llano Cemetery. Arrangements provided by Golden Gate Mortuary.

She accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at the young age of thirteen. She graduated from Tascosa High School in 1979, where she met and married her High School sweetheart Floyd Scott and to this union four children. Early in her life she moved to Pittsburg, California raising her four children as a single parent, where she worked as a Hospice and Mental Health Nurse for Kaiser Permanents for 10 years . Shirley was a kind, caring, and loving person. Throughout most of her life she worked more than one job doing home care assistance where she was deeply loved by the patients she took care of. She returned home to Amarillo, Texas and joined Ebenezer Church of Amarillo, under Pastor Gail Hall until the Lord called her to her eternal home.

She is proceeded in death by her grandmother Mary Wright Hall of Amarillo, Texas.

She leaves to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy; Three Daughters: Terrica, Lucretia and Patricia; Son:Floyd; ​Grandchildren: Makaela, Saimukai Jr, Takaia, Jasmyn, Tommy the IV, Floyd the III and Jayhala​.

Viewing will be held Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Golden Gate Mortuary Chapel of Angels 1416 N. Hughes St. Amarillo, Texas from 3 pm – 6 pm.

Rickey Ray Graves

Rickey Ray Graves, 50, born March 22, 1967 to Genell and Charles W. Graves in Memphis, Texas.

Services will be held Thursday December 14th at 11am in New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church, 3100 Angelus Dr., Amarillo, Texas 79107.  Arrangements provided by Golden Gate Mortuary 1416 N Hughes St, Amarillo, Texas.

He attended school in Amarillo, TX. He was employed at the V.A. Hospital. He loved spending time with family and friends he loved having fun and was full of laughter.

He is preceded in death by his parents Genell Dunlap and Charles W. Graves and a brother Charles D. Graves.

He is survived by his sister Genetter F. Graves, four aunts; Alice Fisher (Sherman) Amarillo, TX, Peggy Tutson (Floyd) Rowlett,  TX, Betty Williams (George) Garland, TX, Tressa Fields Dallas, TX, one uncle; Otis Fields (Gail) Austin, TX and wife Vera Graves of Houston, TX and a host of cousins.

Viewing will be held Wednesday December 13, 2017 at funeral home Golden Gate Mortuary located at 1416 N. Hughes St, from 3pm to 6pm.
