Buddie Paul Griffin, 73, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2014.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Community of Grace United Methodist Church with Pastor Michael Robinson as eulogist. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St.
Buddie Paul Griffin was born June 5, 1941, in Mineola to Norman and Florence Griffin. He moved to Amarillo in 1948. He attended Carver High School. He served with honor as a specialist in the Army, where he was awarded Expert Marksman award.
He was a member of Wyatt Memorial United Methodist Church, and more recently, Community of Grace United Methodist Church, where he served as a member and trustee. He came to know Christ in 1981.
He was employed by Hedge Coke Motor Co., and retired from Southern Western Public Service after 30 years. He was owner of Love Lights Alive.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Ruby J. Griffin; a daughter, Kandis J. Griffin of Oklahoma; a sister, Ella L. Thompson of Houston; a brother, Dennis and wife Stacie Griffin of Amarillo; three grandsons, Christopher Griffin and Marvin Griffin, both of San Diego, and Jeremiah L.H. McClendon of Oklahoma City; and two granddaughters, Ashley Washington and Nailayn Moore-Griffin, both of San Diego.
Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
