Genell Dunlap, 78, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church with Bishop James Mims as eulogist and co-pastor Joyce Mims, officiant. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St.

Genell Dunlap was born March 16, 1936, in Greenville. She graduated from Morning Side High School in Memphis and Tyler Barber College in Tyler.

She was a people person and loved everyone and was loved by everyone. She loved to eat, laugh and have fun. She worked nine years at Levi Strauss and 20 years at Pantex.

She was a faithful and dedicated member of New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church for 25 years where she serviced as church clerk, finance secretary, president of New Covenant Mission Ministry, head of the culinary ministry, president of the Pastor’s Aide Ministry, faithful member of Sunday School, lady attendant for Golden Gate Mortuary, active in City-Wide Mission President Council, Church Women United and founder of the Old Fashioned-Musical

She is survived by two children, Gentter and Ricky Graves, both of Amarillo; five sisters, JoAnn Roberts Lonnie of McKinney, Gladys Davis Dempsey of Amarillo, Peggy Tutson Floyd of Rowlette, Betty Williams George of Garland and Treasa Fields of Dallas; and a brother, Otis Fields Gail of Austin.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
