Kenneth W. Austin, 61, of Amarillo died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church, 121 S. Eight St., in Memphis with Elder Willie Jackson as eulogist. Burial will be Fairview Cemetery in Memphis. Arrangements are by Golden Gate Mortuary.
Kenneth W. Austin was born Feb. 24, 1955, in Memphis to Pink W. Austin and Odessa Cooper Austin. He received his education from Memphis Independent School District. Afterward, he relocated to Dallas, where he worked for Dallas Morning News. He later relocated to Amarillo and was employed by the movie theater and Sears Department Store in the mall. He enjoyed people watching and hanging out at the park with family and friends.
Survivors include two brothers, Travis Austin and wife Cindy of Denton and Willie E. McDonald of Dallas; three sisters, Cleola Johnson and husband Larry and Robbie Jackson and husband Willie, both of Memphis, and Etta Austin of Reno, Nev.; 10 nephews; nine nieces; nine great-nephews; eight great-nieces; and a great-great-nephew .
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
